What & Why the Hui?

Your Best Life Starts Now!

What is the Hui?

A HUI is a Hawaiian word for a shared land trust. Owners may share a road. At the Hui in Pacitan, we share a car park, swimming pool, club house , orchards and gardens.

“70 miles of wild coastline. A place to get into.”

Why the Hui in Pacitan?

A Smart, Soulful Strategy

Set across 5,000 square meters of thoughtfully shaped terrain, the HUI stretches from the river’s edge through orchards and residences to just 400 meters, to the surf breaks, and boardwalk. A five minute walk. Nine house sites form the bones of this place but the spirit lives in what we share: a communal clubhouse, swimming pool, orchard trees, garden spaces. A place that fully supports wellness, creativity, and caring.

“Hello, My name is Chris S. Grant, originally from L.A. Ca. and I am proud to have come to Bali and surfed the Bukit and beyond since the 90’s. I was brave enough to build a house when everybody else was scared to live ‘up there’. Ten years ago, the traffic, crowds and pollution drove me to sell and look for something better. Now, I want to share an amazing new region with you. Just enough Town – still plenty of country.

Helping others get started in Indonesia is in my Aloha spirit. I am reminded and inspired of Duke Kohanamoku’s Outrigger club. This was a place in the heart of Waikiki that helped surfers: store their boards, and canoes, get showers and meals, work jobs. It was Aloha in action. Like Duke’s club, This will be an oasis and center for fellow travellers and adventure.”

HUI Solves three key challenges

For Residence, Retirement, or Return on Investment

Aligned co-owners,
Less risk, less stress

Your land is free hold and safe. You own the land Not leasing from the government or anyone else.

Collective Investment,
Greater Possibility

Shared resources means : more land, better design, and amenities like gardens, swimming pool, river (kayaks!) and beach access, gathering spaces, car park. It’s intentional living. You are choosing to live green, with less concrete and more trees. We have developed a wonderful way to blend your principles with your dreams.

Shared Maintenance, Higher Standards

Maintenance Costs are shared, HUI projects, like the orchard, keep the maintenance high and living costs low.

Paradise Needs Maintenance

The Hui is not a commune. The buyer buys a house site, the price includes the fencing, landscaping and the above shared amenities. You are free to build a custom or prefab house.

Here are examples of fine natural prefab houses from local builders.
